Randall Lamb has
been Director of Bands at NHS since 1980. Prior to coming to Newark
he was Director of Bands at Carlisle High School near Dayton. Mr.
Lamb received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of
Dayton and a Master of Music degree from Morehead State University.
His major instrument is percussion. Mr. Lamb was awarded the Licking
County Foundation "Leader For Learning Award" in 2006. The
Newark City Schools honored Mr. Lamb as the district's "Teacher
of the Year" in 1990. He is the Fine Arts Department Chair at
NHS. In 1994 he was selected for membership in the American School
Band Directors Association and has been named to "Who's Who Among
America's Teachers". In 2006, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra
named him the "2007 Secondary School's Music Educator of the
Year". Mr. Lamb has served the Ohio Music Education Association
as President of District 10, has been on the OMEA contest music selection
committee, and is an active judge for band and solo/ensemble events.
Mr. Lamb is the drummer for the Pastels Big Band, the Skyline Jazz
Quintet, the Doug Moran Dixieland Band, and The Classic Brass. Mr.
Lamb holds membership in the music fraternities of Phi Beta Mu, Phi
Mu Alpha, and Pi Kappa Lambda. He is a member of the National Education
Association. Mr. Lamb is endorsed as an education specialist by the
Vic Firth Company. |

Don Stemen has been
with the Newark Schools since 1989. He earned Bachelors and Masters
degrees from The Ohio State University. Along with his duties at NHS,
Mr. Stemen serves as band director at Roosevelt Middle School and
Central Intermediate. His major instrument is alto saxophone. Mr.
Stemen is a clinician (Saxsibs) for Yamaha instruments. |
