Directions to Newark/Newark High School

Coming from the [West] [Southwest] [East] [North] [Northeast]

From Columbus/Dayton (From the WEST):

Option 1

Take I-70 East to SR 79 exit (Newark), follow SR 79 North through Heath and into Newark. Take the Main Street exit and turn right (McDonald’s is on the corner), go about one block and turn left onto 11th Street (Dan’s Family Restaurant is on the corner) and follow 11th Street (past stadium, Church Street) to 2nd traffic light. Turn left onto Granville Street and go 1 1/2 blocks. Main entrance to NHS is on your right. Go an additional block to Wright Street to enter parking lot of the Performing Arts Center. Go an additional block to Brennen Drive for bus parking.

Approx 1 hour from downtown Columbus

Option 2 from Columbus

Take SR 161 East past Granville where SR 161 becomes SR 16. Continue East into Newark. Take the 21st Street exit. Turn left onto 21st and go 1 1/2 blocks to Granville Street. Turn right onto Granville and follow to NHS entrances listed above (reverse order).

From Cincinnati (From the SOUTHWEST):

Take I-71 North past Grove City. Take I-270 (Wheeling) East to I-70 East. Follow directions listed above on option 1.

 Approx 2 1/2 hours from Cincinnati.

From Zanesville/Wheeling WV (From the EAST):

Take I-70 West to SR 79 exit (Newark) and follow directions listed above on Option 1.

You can also enter Newark off I-70 by taking the SR 13 exit (Newark) and following it North into the city. (Taking SR 79 is less confusing.)

Approx 45 minutes from Zanesville.

From Mansfield/Mt. Vernon (from the NORTH):

Take SR 13 South through Utica and into Newark. Turn right onto 21st Street (at Coughlin Chevrolet) and take 21st Street to Granville Street. (After turning onto 21st Street, Granville Street would be at the 8th traffic light.) Turn left onto Granville Street and follow to NHS entrances listed above on option 1.

Approx 1 hour from Mansfield.

From Cleveland/Akron (from the NORTHEAST):

Take I-77 South to US 36 West exit (Newcomerstown) and follow to Coshocton. Take SR 16 West into Newark. Take the 11th Street exit and turn right. Go 1 1/2 blocks to Granville Street and turn left. Follow to NHS entrances list above. 

Approx 2 1/2 hours from Cleveland.
